Identity Agent installation

1. Uninstall previous versions of Identity Agent via Control Panel > Programs and features.
2. Delete the following files if they are present and reboot the machine - C:Program Files(x86)java<installed version of jre>libextTicketAPIDLL.dll
3. Install the 32bit version of either Java JRE 7 or 8
4. Verify System Type (32bit or 64bit) via Windows Control Panel > System
5. Install GemAlto Middleware for your system type (x86 = 32bit or 64bit)
6. Install Obethur Middleware for your system type.

8. If faced with error code ‘26352’ refer to page 13 of the installation guide and re-try install.
9. Reboot machine

1. Ensure printer is powered on and USB cables are not connected.
2. Run printer driver setup file.
3. Reboot machine.
4. Connect USB cables to machine to allow driver installation to complete.
5. Amend printer security permissions via Devices and Printers > Right click on Datacard Printer > Printer Properties > Security tab > Select 'Everyone' > Tick 'Manage this Printer'
6. Install Magicard Printer Internal Smartcard Reader Driver.
7. Amend printer colour correction settings via Devices and Printers > Right Click on DoH V2 Printer > Printing Preferences > Image tab > Change Colour correction to 'Colour Management (built into driver).

Datacard SP35 smartcard printer installation

1. Ensure printer is powered on and USB Cables are not connected.
2. Run printer driver setup file and when prompted to, connect USB cables to machine
3. Reboot machine
4. Run printer diagnostic tool setup
5. Amend printer security permissions via Devices and Printers > Right Click on Datacard Printer > Printer Properties > Security Tab > Select 'Everyone' > Tick 'Manager this Printer'
6. Install Datacard SP35 Printer Internal Smartcard Reader Driver

Internet Explorer browser configuration

1. Launch Internet Explorer > Internet Options > Security Tab > Select Trusted Sites > Click Sites > Enter https://*.national.ncrs.nhs.uk > Close > Ok.
2. Reduce security level for trusted sites by clicking ‘Default Level’ and moving slider to Low.
3. Disable popup blocker via Privacy Tab.

To ensure maximum compatibility, it is important that the manufacturer’s smartcard reader drivers are installed and are up to date. Windows sometimes installs generic Microsoft drivers for smartcard readers which could face issues when performing card management operations. To check your smartcard reader drivers, navigate to the device manager via the following steps. Start Menu > Control Panel > System > Device Manager. In the example below we have an Omnikey 3x21 USB Smartcard Reader.

Readers labelled ‘Microsoft Usbccid Smartcard Reader (WUDF)’ will need the drivers updating. Refer to the manufacturer’s website to obtain the correct drivers.
