Sims 4 How To Enable Script Mods

Make sure to turn the game on at least once before installing mods
How

1. Open the Archive

  1. Go into the game and enable the mods and custom content. Download the mod you want from the internet. Use the Finder program to locate the Mods folder (Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods.
  2. Copy the contents of the zip folder to your Sims 4 mod folder. Make sure to delete the previous version of this mod, if it exists, before installing the new one. Enable mods by starting The Sims 4 and going to the options menu's other tab and enable the options 'Enable Custom Content and Mods' and 'Script Mods Allowed'.

Open the downloaded modification archive file with an Archive Manager.
To extract archives you need an Archive Manager. If your system doesn’t provide one by default, try these:

  • WINDOWS – WINRAR
  • LINUX – ARK / XARCHIVER / PEAZIP
  • MAC – ENTROPY / KEKA / UNARCHIVER

To do so, click on the Menu (the three buttons on the top right corner), Game Options, Other, and then tick the Script Mods Allowed button. You'll see a warning about script mods. Click OK, Apply Changes, then restart your game. Your script mod will then be working the next time you play! In the game, click on three dots located in the top-right corner of the screen to open the menu Next, click Game Options Now click Other, located on the left side of the window Click on “Enable Custom Content and Mods” to enable or disable it. Major (or even minor) updates to The Sims 4 can often break mods. While the game will automatically disable mods after an update, you need to update your mods before you enable them again, or else you can encounter game-breaking bugs. Keep track of all the mods you download and check the modder's download page for information on updates.

It is common for 7-ZIP to cause issues when extracting ZIP or RAR archives. It’s recommended to use a different archive manager application!
